Well...the colours in this image are a bit different from the actual painting. The blue in the foil has more red in it and the reds have more variations of hues. At the start I had doubts..the red was really overpowering. But I went for it.

the photographic illusion in this is up there with some of the best i seen. love the depth of field of the clever use of colours. Those reds and blue's playing off against each other really pushes the strawberry's out as the focal points.

It still astounds me that these are paintings, not photos.
I love the texture of the strawberries on this one; the foil is so smooth it looks like glass!

Wow. Those are gorgeous strawberries. I wish our plants were still producing, but our particular variety is a spring and not summer bearing crop. >.<

LOVELY painting, and so detailed; very bold putting the strawberries on the foil and still catching the metallic look as well as the strawberries' reflections, but all these little details help the painting stand out.

Thanks Simon. I gotta tell you..when I was first just blocking in the colours I was like "Oh crap"...the red looked too intense. I added red to the foreground blue (not very evident here) and that seemed to bring the painting together.
